Non-traditional Holiday Look

It’s Friiidaaaayyyy, woo hoo! Hope you all had a great week and have some fun things planned for this weekend (even if that’s cuddled up on the couch watching Christmas movies drinking wine.. my kinda night!) Today I am sharing with you my non-traditional holiday look that I wore to Justin’s work party last weekend. The theme of the holiday soiree was Mardi Gras and I honestly shopped 4 times before deciding on an outfit. At first, I was thinking a solid black jumpsuit with some lace, maybe a black dress.. then I told myself, “No. You have plenty of black jumpsuits and dresses.. go for something more festive!” SO, on the morning of the party, which was on a Sunday; I went shopping at 930 AM for an outfit and luckily found the perfect one! I am not a big color person, as you all have probably noticed..so I did end up wearing all black. I decided on a long-sleeve sequin top with a high neck and a cape  on the back. I paired the top with high-waisted culottes. I knew I wanted to wear my hair up in a pony because that’s Justin’s favorite and this look was just right for that. I accessorized with a gold sequin wristlet (That’s Mardi Gras festive, right?!) some fun earrings and my loubs. I tied my look together with a bold red lip and was ready to go! I love this look, it’s unique and both pieces can be worn again. I am also proud that I found this whole outfit (excluding the shoes) the day of the party. I will NEVER do that to myself again though because I was an anxious wreck for not having an outfit planned out. The outfit was under $100, not counting the accessories. We had so much fun that night, there was delicious food, entertainment and great company.  It was the biggest Christmas party I have ever attended! I wish I had a picture of us both together, but the lighting was so crazy inside we couldn’t get a good one.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this look! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
